we're selling it at my store. it's pretty lame imho. it was a good first effort, though. a lot of the page layouts and blown up pictures aren't that good.
It's not that bad - especially if you get it for a discount price. The problem with it is mostly that it isn't nerdcore enough for some people - it is mostly good for the common person interested in gaming rather than the fanboy who's obsessed about a particular genre/platform/etc. The layout is clear and tries to cover an overview of a broad selection of topics - but it has that niggling fault which is the bane of more recent Guinness books, which is it doesn't try very hard to cram the records in - you get about 15-30 or so records per double page spread. But then again, the records they do pick tend to be the more interesting ones. The layout also means it's easy to read - much more so than just tables and tables of information that gaming world records would have to have. I don't particularly feel it's weak as such - it's more that it's not an almanac, which is what some expect of it. It's more something you buy to flick through from time to time and say 'ooh, that's interesting' more than something that is to be read from cover to cover. However, the zombie Wayne Rooney (the Man U footballer) on the front cover does scare me somewhat. His milky, glazed eyes make me want to cower in fear.
