Anyone in/around London Saturday this week, the race finishes in Parliament Square http://www.gumball3000.com/rally/route If you can get near it you will have a bash as big party organised
I love fast cars, I enjoy watching races. I disagree with Gumball 3000. They put normal road users at risk and the party aspect of the event after each leg means a lot of the racers are driving under the influence or with very little sleep/hang overs. I know the hosts do not give prizes for rankings but the nature of the event is about speed in fast cars (at least for the majority.) The idea is cool but it should be an organised event over closed roads, which I know would be impossible in Europe.

Very nice A. Snow. I have an interest in the old road races, especially the more exotic ones such as the Dakar Rally. Part of me longs for the chance to be in a 'The Love Bug' style competition. I'd love to be in the evil Peter Thorndike's Apollo GT. What a beautiful car. "Havershaw, I'm not a cowardly man, but I get the feeling that thing is out to get me. " Haha!
Yes, a very sad ending for the event. Still, it is quite surprising it hadn't happened before. And if you are going to drive like that on public roads, then you should expect to be pulled over, and accept any consequences of your actions. Some reports suggest they fled the scene. Others say they waited for the ambulance, then rejoined the rally. I don't really think either behaviour is acceptable. A bit of a joke that they face the maximum 1 year imprisonment for taking two lives, though.
