As GaijinPunch just recently spoke highly of it and I happen to like action puzzlers I thought I'd give it a try. I received it yesterday after winning an auction for a cheap loose copy and only played the first stage so far but it's really nice. Presentation, controls and learning curve make for a pleasing first impression. Anyway, I did some searching on the web today and this is what I found and want to share: Gussun Paradise (1996) was released worldwide by JVC in 1999 as YoYo's Puzzle Park. Irem even made a cute English website for it. I don't think it received much attention at that time and the good thing is that it can be had for a fraction of the price Japanese copies sell for (see for example Amazon UK marketplace). So, if you're into arcade style action puzzlers grab a copy and give it a go.
Hm... that's cool, I didn't realize it was released in Europe and Australia. Unfortunately that doesn't do much good for me in America since I for one already have a Japanese PSX and I don't think it's worth buying a PAL PSX for that one game alone. I'm probably stuck buying the super-expensive Japanese version. How much do they typically go for, anyway?
Wow! Interesting find. I never knew that. Looks like it was released everywhere except for North America. Indeed, great game. I thought of making a super play video one time, but I could never string together a no miss. The first four worlds aren't that hard, but 5 and 6 get tricky. I should just do them one world at a time and upload them like that.
I got my loose copy for 800Yen, a complete one is around 4.000Yen. Ah, yeah, I missed that. So there's only NTSC-JP and PAL (Europe and Australia).
The game is avalible on the japanese PSN network for PS3/PSP. Personaly Its ok. I'm a big bubble bobble fan but I did not really enjoy this a whole lot. Some mechanics were cool like the stage flips but over all it was sort of meh.
