Hmmm? It's called swine flu, but the issue is no longer pigs. The virus' origins are irrelevant once it mutates to something easily caught & transmitted by another species, i.e. us!
Where do all these crazy flu virus come from. When I was a kid there was no such thing as Chicken flu, bird flu, pig flu and so on. Yakumo
They're genetically engineered by the Illuminati to wipe out 90% of mankind so they can force the rest of us into slavery (or in real life, they come from unsanitary conditions in pig and poultry farms.)
but that will drive prices up a fair bit, or the sellers will have to cut down their profits, probably both. not going to happen soon :banghead:
Mexico is in a bit of a chaos this morning, mostly because of the media overblowing everything into an international crisis, which it is not. I am on forced vacation from both universities, as all classes have been suspended. Everyone with a space in the media is talking about this flu like it's the apocalypse, but I'm certain its an overexaggeration and the government is going to use it as a fear-vote strategy for July 5th's election. The affected area is the DF (Federal District) which does have a lot of cases, but then again, there are twenty million people living there, which makes the amount of cases very small statistically. Everyone who left their house today to go to work is wearing a mask (which would be useless, since they're the disposable paper-thin blue type). If something interesting comes up locally, I'll let you guys know. Is Garlo, the other mexican poster, (From Monterrey) still active in this board? I'm certain he'll say the same about his city: No problem whatsoever, lots of media hysteria, suspended classes, and lots of useless paper-thin masks.
Swine flu is no truffling matter. If you feel ill, you should call a hambulance immediately - it cannot be cured...
I sneezed twice this morning and have a stuffy nose. I'm screwed! :banghead: Edit - forgot to mention my grandparents went to Mexico in march and all they brought back is a t-shirt for me. In all seriousness though the disease does deserve attention, but not quite as much attention as it's getting. 64 confirmed cases in the US as of 11 AM today. How many people get told they have cancer each day. You don't see people flipping out in the news every day about it.
This is just another case of influenza as long as it doesnt speed up the spread throughout the world and doesnt start rapidly killing people then we should be fine. I do believe it should be Phase 5 tho. Its serious but not as serious as Its shown, Thing is how do we even know if we have it. Ive had this cold for about a week where my throat has been killing me and just really sick. I doubt I have Swine flu tho, really lol.
Surely you don't think your position on this terrible epidemic that is about to engulf us rasher-nal... do you?
