Is there a chance a hacked version of Super Mario Advance 4: SMB3 with all extra levels could be made available by ripping? I have long been curious about these extra levels available, and I just bought a pack of all e-reader cards available in USA, excluding the promos, but then there's also the cards only available in Japan, and it would be great to have them all in one simple ROM.

Or do these cards (Jap + Wal-Mart promos) simply show up on eBay from time to time? If so, I probably should wait for that. It it possible to use Jap card on a US game and vice versa?

E-reader cards are region locked to use the japanese cards you would need a japanese copy of mario advance 4 & a japanese e-reader.

A long time ago i released a couple of save files onto the net, with the japanese e-reader levels in, i used an action replay to extract the save from my cart but i had to split the levels into batches as it would screw up if i tried all of them together. I use a special thumbstick for my gba thatt lets me back up my saves, so when friends want all my ereader card data they gust give me their cart & i can upload the save & give them all the new levels.

Japanese ereader cards rarely if ever turn up on ebay, i have yet to see any mario advance 4 cards ever appear i had to resort to yahoo auctions japan, nowdays they still appear on yahoo auctions but not as often as they used to do they seem to be getting harder to find do some of the series.

You need the e-reader to be japanese too? Too bad. But you're saying the game can actually use one level at a time, so when I add a new level the other deletes itself from the cart?

Yes the ereader has to match the region of the game & cards as if you swipe one through from another region it comes up with a region error.

The game itself can store 32 ereader levels to the cart they are stored in their own aea of the game, when i tried to use my AR to copy the save it couldnt read the cart properly so two thirds of the levels ended up messed up, i discovered if i scanned say 10 levels on & backed up that save the levels would be ok.
