On June 17, a Czech group called ZTOHOVEN hacked into the broadcast feed on Czech TV. During an early morning program that shows a webcam feed of a panoramic mountain scene, they broadcast a (pretty realistic) nuclear explosion in the location. You can see the original here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzfpqDLRjiA And the same from a Czech news re-broadcast (assuring the public that it was a "prank"): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzaN2x8qXcM
Can you imagine however sitting watching your TV when something like that occured on a standard TV show? I personally would have kissed my ass goodbye, grabbed my kids for the last time and hugged the wife with tears in my eyes... when you realised it was fake, you'd have felt a t*at for a split second and then a rush of relief. The smell of cooked pants would have been a bit off putting though!
I agree with Parris here - sure, knowing full well what you're about to view you can make all sorts of judgements. But if you were just sitting around having your morning cup of coffee and watching a boring panoramic view on the TV and this came about, you might be too confused/shocked to make rational judgements.
Very nice! It surely must have been somewhat hard to crack into the network...would be intresting to see how they did that!
