Okay, call me crazy but I have an idea here. If you took a 360 controller, wireless of course, replaced the rumble motors with standard ones and attached wheels (Due to the fact to the two motors are different to each other) then wrote a program in XNA to 'vibrate' the motors, Surely you could make an RC Car out of it, which you could control from your PC? Crazy ideas..

or maybe control the program with one controller, and make the other one dance. Like... controller 1 triggers vibrations on Controller 2's wheels.

from the hardware side; sure you could, even 1 Motor would be enough but whats the point of it?

also you should may know that it would neither be fast nor powerful plus you would have a lot to do if want it too look more or less good

I know its not gonna be fast or powerful, but its more of a thing to try out. I do like the idea of it being controlled by another controller though.

This sounds like quite an interesting idea.

It could be possible to expand on this and turn the Xbox pad into a basic robot. If you mounted some push buttons on the front and rear, you could wire them in to the A and B buttons to use as touch sensors. So if it bumps into something and the button is pressed, the Xbox sends a command to the car telling it to stop.

It would be interesting to see if you could wire in other types of sensor and have the readout sent to the Xbox as button presses. Maybe a light/colour sensor for a simple line-following robot?
