Confusing yet interesting. Some folks have decided to port and enhance the DC version of Half Life back to the PC. I can't really see the point, I thought the Blue Shift expansion upgraded some of the player and weapon models. What other differences were there. Perhaps someone could enlighten me. Looks like there are reasons to do so, but I can't tell from watching the trailer they have up and lord knows how many hours I spent playing Half-Life for the PC. Be interesting to see a side by side comparison.
This one really confused me: Password Notifications - Although the password system itself cannot be ported, all password messages that appear in normal gameplay have been brought over. What's the point? Though, if there were a DC exclusive map as they say, then that's a whole different matter.
The only differences I noticed in the trailer were that the pistol was different and the crate had a Half-Life disc inside (the original had an AOL disc, I think). Then again, I haven't played HL in years, so maybe there are more significant differences.
I think I never seen anything like this before: PC port which is ported back to PC. Anyway, seems there a lot of reasonable interesting stuff. I'd download it but it needs Steam version (seems for audio only).
well, there's this PSX Doom wad for doom 2... was gonna mention doom 64, but that was an original game for nintendo's console.
If you have a retail version of HL, you can just put the CD key into Steam and the Steam version will be added to your library...
The bad thing about the Steam version is that it uses low-quality music. I found that it's possible to enable widescreen and 1080p in the original version, so it has pretty much everything the Steam version has plus high-quality audio.
