Halo wars

Hi, Was wondering if there are any early builds of Halo Wars with the scarab from E3 2007? I don't think there will be any with that scarab in but just wondering.

 

I thought something like that would be in the final version.. or am I missing something?

 

Kind of are but they changed them to be more like halo 3 scarabs this one is more halo 2 scarab.

 

wonder if it's in the final build at all, taken a dig through the retail games files?

 

I want to, I downloaded a tool today to look into the files it uses.

 

Only Pre-Release build known for Halo Wars is the closed alpha "Sway" which sadly does not have the Scarab in it.

 

That's a shame :/ The E3 2007 build looked so different from the retail version

 

The alpha test was quite different as well. Although lacking any enemies other then marines fighting marines its still interesting to see. I do agree though I would love a build with the original Scarab in it and not the Halo 3 one that ended up being.

Here are some screens of the alpha if you were curious. Covenant are only in one of the 3 maps (only grunts on turrets) and do not interact with you.

 

It seems i got the alpha test too..any Chance to get it hacked to run it offline?

 

Best chance is to make a "server" that acts like XBL.
That or see if there's a way to play in an offline mode.

 

How to make such a Server?

 

Lots of work. From looking at the screenshots you may be able to just do some stuff with a second controller or even a special button input.

 

I will try it with a second controller...

 

The build is network locked. It requires modified files in order to work without a connection. Just like all the other Halo Beta builds.
Those working files are not mine sadly.

There is, you just have to locate the modified files now.

Got bored while helping a friend out and found this http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/topic/369-ksofttool/page__view__findpost__p__9703 it may be of relevance but I personally have no idea.
