Not sure if this qualifies as rare or obscure, but it doesn't quite fit into general gaming. I was just thinking about a little handheld Resident Evil game that I had years ago. It had a black and white LCD screen (dot matrix), and the gameplay was obviously much different than the Playstation game. It was actually pretty fun though. It was dark grey, and just a little bigger than a Dreamcast VMU. Does anybody know what I'm talking about and remember what it was called?
Yep, that's it. That was fast. Too bad I have no idea where mine is. Probably lost forever, sadly. It was actually pretty fun, at least it seemed fun at the time.
Have you played that one in particular? Most Tiger games were pretty crappy, but if I remember correctly that one was actually okay. I never took the time to finish the game, mind you, but it kept me entertained for a good hour or two.
Indeed, Tiger games were shit. I can play games without fancy graphics, but come on, some form of animation would be nice. Not to mention the gameplay sucked in 99.9% of tiger games. My dad had a bowling one when i was a kid that he used to love though.
Some of the tiger LCD games like Pinball http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Tiger/Pinball.htm Were freaking awesome.. mind you this was pre Gameboy era... but at the time being able to play anything when not at home with our NES was pretty great!
There are plenty of good Tiger LCDs. It doesn't make sense to compare LCDs to the Gameboy - the hardware is much cheaper and less advanced. A good resource here: http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Tiger/index.html
