yeah, but imagine photoshop without the use of a mouse (or a touchscreen, drawingpad, just keyboard!)
YAY!!! Now I have an excuse to get cake today!!! :110: (I still love being able to just point a wiimote at where i want to click thogh:nod HAPPY B-DAY MOUSE! *chucks mouse at wall* PS: Mac People, have you ever noticed you mouse is a bar of soap?
A trackstick is no replacement for a mouse, especially for a fast-paced game like Starcraft. How well did you do?
I usually won, I'm pretty good with a trackstick. I can do pretty well with it on Unreal Tournament as well. I'd rather use a mouse of course but it was fine for the moment since I usually don't carry a mouse with me, lol. I should probably get one of those wireless travel mouses but it kind of defeats the purpose of being a laptop to me, dunno. I cannot stand the fucking touchpads at all, for anything. I hate when laptops only have those. They might as well leave that space blank since your guaranteed to carry a mouse with you, I personally can't do ANYTHING on those! Who here still uses a ball mouse? I actually haven't seen one of those in a long time!
I agree with PhreQuencYViii the trackstick is the best solution for laptops, I miss mine a lot :crying: my current laptop only has a damn touchpad OH: I think now a days only IBM laptops still come with tracksticks.
Aiming. Now, of course none of us are pros at any games but I didn't have a problem taking people out. I did rocket myself once or twice though, lol.
40 years, that's some time. I remember the trackball I used to use in my father's laptop, then one of those Genius mouses around '95 with my first PC (and if I remember correctly it's still working right somewhere), it was awesome how you didn't need more than 2 buttons to get things done. Nowadays I'm using the 3rd laser mouse in a couple of months (all because of an awful batch, it's covered by the warranty anyway), and I actually found the extra buttons (like zoom or back and forward) useful, buttons I thought I would never use... BTW, I can't stand touchpads and tracksticks. The few tracksticks I had the chance to try some years ago in a couple of IBM laptops didn't like me at all, I felt them extremely slow (or imprecise when I raised the speed), and the hard they were made them of using them for a little while like hours of playing in a cheap-ass gamepad. Maybe later models work better, thought.
Happy Birthday to the mouse! Of course, the patent came a couple of years later, and then the mouse as we know it (ball mouse) a couple of years later still. And the trackball was actually the predecessor to the mouse, having been invented by the military. Until recently, ball mice were still more accurate than laser mice and as such used by many. Of course, anyone who has an old computer will use a ball mouse when they use that system, e.g. Amiga owners. ;-)
