you turn 10 years old in north america today. and I have the day off, I think it's time for some Jet Grind Radio.
Was just thinking about this as remember an article in some magazine a while ago (possibly EDGE) about all the advertising that was being pushed in the US 9-9-9 was the main crux of the ad only They asked loads of people if they had seen this advertisement, virtually everyone they asked said they had, but when they asked what it was for, most of them didn`t know
Happy birthday DC, thanks for giving me all these wonderful gaming memories. To me you're still the best console ever.
DC was the first non-gameboy console that I got to own without sharing with my brother. Traded a Gameboy Color and like 5 boxed games and a case for a DC with about 18 games and 2 controllers and a couple vmus. It was a launch DC, too! Still running strong, but I've also got two more by now for kicks. If someone told me I had to get rid of every single console and all their games I owned except one, I would keep that one DC.
Happy 10th birthday DC! Yeah, we all know it was released in 1998 in Japan, but it's all about 9/9/99 and the most successful launch in video game history up to that point! It was a real tragedy in video game terms that the DC never got to be as popular as it deserved; this really looked like Sega's strong comeback after several underperforming (but, in the Saturn's case, even more awesome than the DC) consoles. Too bad Sony's bullshit and hype (Emotion Engine ) was more important than the much better library of games on the DC at the time :banghead:
Happy birthday Dreamcast!!!! If I had to, I'd still pick you over the PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube.
It really does..... it really does... :crying: I have such great memories of this system and its launch etc. Lots of great games and lots of great times play games with firends (via split screen and via on-line on PSO)... Happy Brithday Dreamcast
I'm feeling extra prickish today for my hardcore stance on "I rank wishing consoles happy birthday somewhere just above dumpster diving".
To mark the occasion I busted a couple of light guns out of their boxes for some HOTD2 I think I'll play a little bit of Mr Driller too.
