I would if my brother didn't have it. Well maybe I can look at the box, read the manual and dust of the games
I got a launch one too, the screen is perfect as well! Never had a GB till GBC when I was a kid though. Had a Game Gear.
I still have my one from 1992, all boxed up with the earphones (authentic ear wax included!). The best game I played on it was Zelda: Link's Awakening, and it was easily as good (if not better!) than SNES LTTP
Too bad Yokoi isnt here to see it, anyways... Does anyone think the brand will make a comeback, considering how sucessful the DS is?
Totally agree! I got the DX version with my GBC. I never cared about Zelda till I played that...Still like it the most.
I hope it does. The GameBoy was more like a portable console and less like a goofy toy that DS is. I'd love to see a serious GameBoy console, no silly shit like touch screens or cameras. Just a good solid design for regular good old games.
I know it's not the same, but I guess thats what the PSP is now! Dunno about the games though. Hardly played mine but haven't really tried.
Most hilarious high school memory: Hearing the Game Boy startup sound in the middle of a class. Most ridiculous: Hearing the fucking STARCRAFT boot up sound in class.
Wow it been 20 years already, Never actually owned one but my sister did and loved playing mario on it when i was younger. Also if anyone watched the gadgetshow in the uk on monday it was the Gameboy vs the DS in the Wall Of Fame and of course the gameboy won.
Here in the UK, Retro Gamer magazine has a huge article and dedicated the cover to the good old GB series. Good reading.
I remember my old game boy. It was seriously the best game boy ever. It let you know when the batteries were dead. There was a loud pop and you'd open the cover and there would be battery acid leaking out. The system never did die on me though. It lasted me many years, just after my GBC the GBA came out and at that time I didn't see the need for 3 game boy systems so I either threw out the old game boy or gave it away.
