Happy Festivus everyone! Each time I see that chapter I convince myself even more that some year I'll have to celebrate a real Festivus with the pole, the Feats of Strength and all the stuff... BTW, here're some interesting links: CNN.com Article about Festivus A Festivus poles manufacturer EDIT: Seems it's gonna be pretty hard for ASSEMbler to do them this year, maybe someone of the mods would like to pick a member of the boards to fight against

You know the world is a depressing fucking place that the religious right and athiests alike are both trying to prevent Xmas. Three cheers for not giving a shit!
I could go on and explain Jesus wasn't really born in December and blah blah... but really... Christmas is less about Jesus and more about getting free shit. and that's ok. Christmas or whatever you want to call it brings out the best in well..most of us. Even if Jesus was born in October.... (don't even ask it's a LONG ass explanation I have to break books out for)
I think everyone concurs... it's just a convenient date. And always has been... well, I'd like to say more about being generous, but there's no harm in enjoying all the free iPods & KY you get from loved ones.
According to Scripture Jesus was born in either October or March near a "Special celebration" there's a jewish festival in October and of course Passover is in Late March/early April.
Some scientists have thrown out the supposed date of his birth falling on June 17th. I think it has something to do with going back and tracking the appearance of the "Christmas Star."
