So yesterday my son was nagging me to go to Hobby Off to buy some traiding cards. He takes forever to choose what he wants so while I was waiting I went around Hard Off and made this little video.
Hard On, Hard Off In all seriousness though, that store looks fucking fantastic. Look at all the variants of PSP's!!!!!
I wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this when you get the time. Just seeing how well kept the store is blows my mind. EDIT: I am sure it has been asked before and I am just too lazy to search but is there any actual meaning to the Hard Off name?
Yep, it means money OFF HARDware That's Japanese English for you. There's also Hobby Off, Book Off, House Off, Garage Off (car parts) and I'm sure there's one other. yep, that's right.
Both Hard Off and Book Off used to be a lot better, it's sad to see their stock dwindling and prices rising in most places. It's not happening just in Tokyo either, I've noticed the same in Hokkaido, Sapporo, and Osaka. Also, that damn song is absolutely PIERCING when standing there for 45 minutes looking through boxes of CDs and Laserdiscs.
No idea. Please use xe.com to convert yen in to pounds. Book Off is an off shoot of Hard Off. We have Book Off in Japan too. Book Off do sell games but nowhere near the volume of Hard Off.
Oh man, I remember my trip to Hard Off. I believe it was in Gunma Yawata, or close to there anyway. Really wish I still had the stuff I bought, somehow got lost in the moves since then. Wish I could go back! Thanks for the video man, brought back some good memories.
Oh man, I'd load up on rare consoles if I had a chance to go there. I bet the 3DOs are like 40 or 50 bucks, while in the US they are getting stupidly expensive at $80-$100 for a base console. I bought a used Sanyo 3DO off rakuten several years ago for the equivelant of $35, although with the cost of a third party buyer service, Japanese domestic shipping and then international shipping, it turned into about $130 when all was said and done.
