Hi, Could anyone provide me with the locations of Hard-Off stores in/around Tokyo or Chiba/Ichikawa? I've been trying to find it on www.hardoff.co.jp but to no avail. Thanks in advance.
Chiba stores - http://www.hardoff.co.jp/block/list4.htm#b4-12 Tokyo stores - http://www.hardoff.co.jp/block/list4.htm#b4-13 Good luck finding one! I should have thought of looking them up online before I took my trip. I didn't see *one* while I was there (I visited multiple prefectures and like 10 Tokyo wards...) Σ( ̄Д ̄
There are very few Hard Off's in Tokyo... none that are central to the city. I think Tachikawa is the closest one, which is like 20-30 minutes from Shinjuku depending on the time of day. EDIT: When will you be here? You said you're on a budget. Maybe I can buy you a dinner one night and do a lap around Akihabara.
Hey Anti, please let me know when you are going. I'll send you a list of some stuff i'm hoping you can find on those stores. Not much stuff, so don't worry :smt023
That would be fricken great! I'll be there from July 21st thru August 12th. Would be cool to hook up with someone from the board (I'm thinking about visiting Yakumo as well) :smt023 Kyuusaku: thanks for your help. Now I just realized I dont know crap about the Japanese address system :Hangman:
Hey, if you're still there in August then maybe we can meet up :smt023 Should be back in Japan by then I hope. I may even be in Tokyo aslong as the job hunting goes well :smt033 Yakumo
I should be here through September... although August will be frantic. Whether I do temporary living in Tokyo or Hawaii is still up in the air. I might be sittnig in a hotel room with a GBA (oh, and my wife) for a month before moving, which would suck ass. Anyways, yeah, either way I can hook up, so drop me a line closer to your departure dates! Good luck w/ the job hunting Yakumo Ciao GP
Yeah, Hard Off can be a rip-off if you don't look well. They always have the same games priced completely different. Take this little example. I saw Shining Force 3 part 1 in the Saturn section for 2500 yen which isn't such a bad price for a new sealed copy. Then saw it again in the reject junk bin with a cracked case for only 500 yen !!! The game was still factory sealed. So I just changed the case and saved 2000 yen. The best thing to do in Hard Off if look carefully and I do mean carefully. You will find many bargains there as long as you don't grab the first thing that you see. Hard Off is also the only place I know of that sell Saturns as cheap as 200 yen !!! They're the grey models that are normally covered in dirt but just give them a clean and they'll work fine. I can see the Hard Off shops in Tokyo being more expensive than down here though. Yakumo
Yakumo I love video rental places. They always have goodies far better than them, and yahoo Japan is the best for the rare shit anyways.
Yeah, I already know that :smt019 :smt033 By the way if you find a GEO MEDIA CENTER Anti, check it out. It's basicaly a Video rental store that deals in used games too. Also look out for used book shops because they also sell games cheap. I bought a sealed what's shenmue from one for only 400 yen !!! Yakumo
Thanks for all your suggestions :smt023 Wouldnt that require one to remove the seal? That would kind of defeat the purpose :smt017
Do you mean the price sticker? They are not easy to get off in Hard Off because they stick them down with tape. If you ever try to remove one they just rip the sticker. Yakumo
No he means opening the game to change covers would of broken the sealed game you wanted... but you dint want a selaed game u just wanted a new one i take it...
Ah, I see what he means. thanks Paulo. Well to be honest I am a collector who plays games. So opening a sealed game is no big deal to me. I do keep the sealing to place the game back in once I've played it though. I only own 2 sealed games now which are Sonic Shuffle for Dreamcast and Pop'n Music 1 because I have two of them. Yakumo
