I doubt that it's available anywhere outside of Japan because you have to have a membership card that has to be inserted into the machine every time you play and to my knowledge, the game had not been translated to English (as opposed to other card-supporting games like Initial D).

I saw it in Japan, got into the cabinet, messed around with the levers and stuff, then an employee came up and told me to GTFO because 1) I have to get a card for $5 or so prior to being able to play.

A bit old news these systems. They've been around for 2 or 3 years now. The set up in my local arcade doesn't need any system or member cards though. Just put in the cash and play. that being said, I never did play the game when it was new due to the amount of people wanting to play it.

I've filmed inside one of these systems twice now. You can see the video on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANKsZ5yAZdc

I remember playing it back in 2007, I needed to register a card with a player ID and then I was ready to go. Fun game, quite hard to control the Gundam properly but it actually added to the charm of playing in such a simulation pod.

I played on one of these, see my video here (they are in the background at the start):

It cost me something silly like ¥500 for 10 credits. After 97 hours trying to navigate menus loaded with Japanese text, I finally got a game going and had no idea how to control the ship.

I ditched the machine after I finished the first credit and told the girl sat on the Darius Burst cabinet I was playing that she and her friends could have the remaining credits.

I'm sure it would be good if I could have understood the game but the language barrier ruined it. Very immersive experience though, I was impressed with that part of it anyway.
