Hello. I received my super everdrive today and the first game I tried playing was Secret of mana. I played for a while but after sometime I saved and went on to do other things. When I came back I noticed my save was gone so I tried looking into the options to see if there was anything off that needed to be turned on. After a while I gave up and started another game and had the same issue. Then decided to start yet another game and I turned it off and loaded the game again and the save was there. Suddenly I play some more and save and again my save is gone. Can someone help me out here? I have used the Everdrive for the genesis and never had any problems with the save feature. If someone can give me a hand here as to what I need to turn on to have the save not dissapear it will help me greatly. Thank you
If you have max files in the folder there is no room for the save file. Keep only 120 or less files so you have room for the saves.
Actually. I had about 15 files. I believe I made this mistake of not making a folder and putting everyting in the front. This may have caused problems. I have also started getting a notice telling me that "copying games is a serious crime" I thought the super everdrive bypassed the lock out chip. I am confused here I already got one that was defective and this was the replacement. I thought this things were fool proof. I never had any problems with my Everdrive MD. {Edit} I reformatted my SD and only added secret of mana just to try to pin point what the problem is, and now the game wont even save at all. I try to save and I check back the file is empty.
probably defective cart. could you make the photo of back side of cart? will be good if it will be hi res photo
i know how to fix problem. i not sure that you can fix it by self, so you can send it to me for repair, or fix it by self if you have soldering skill
I have minimal soldering skills. Send me a PM with the details and I'll let you know if its within my skill level.
All fixed. I followed Krikzz's advice and fixed it real good. All the issues are gone. I even updated the firmware everything seems to be dandy now.
I think I'll let Krikzz post the solution himself. The thing is I dont think this is a Fix-All solution. Perhaps, someone could be having a similar issue and might try this solution and might end up breaking their everdrive instead. That's why I asked Krikzz to PM me about it.
I didn't think of that, I'm basically nosy and paranoid so i wanted to know what the issue and fix was
I'm having the exact same issue as the OP. At first my saves wouldn't retain, after reformatting I can no longer save at all. I purchased my Super Everdrive from Ryan at stoneagegamer.com and he suggested I come here first for a fix. I have no soldering skills and I don't know anyone who can. Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate it. Thanks
I'd be interested in an exchange. I'd have to send the complete unit though, as I have no tool to remove the outer casing. Would you be able to receive the unit, open the casing, and swap out the board? I don't suppose you know what kind of shipping costs I might expect from Canada to the Ukraine? Thanks for the quick response.
hard to say how much would be cost shipping in Canada. i pay around 4usd for shipping to any country. i sent my address to you in PM
You would be better off shipping to me to avoid incurring any charges. Yes you would have to pay to ship it back, but I would refund you for that fee once I received it. Please see the second e-mail I sent you right after the one suggesting to come here.
I am also having save issues, just ran into it on Lufia and after finding this thread, tried it on super mario world. Both directories have room and my folder setup is e.x d:\snes\S d:\snes\L etc I have basic soldering skills if you want to pm me the fix, I can also take a picture of the board. I bought it ~2 months ago from kitch-bent.com
