Well I have been picking up loads of these cheap

    One question

    on

    www.rdvd.co.uk

There are a lot listed and some are as US import.

As these were region free and a lot I have bought at us ones even from HMV, is there any differences? IE extra features etc as I can seem to find
    them

    Just seems most odd

The only difference i've seen, on some titles were that the US ones were dual discs, hd on one side dvd on the other. You might get the a bit more on the US unrated versions though.

I've been wondering if it would be cool to take an xbox360 hddrive (there's one at my zellers for 49.99 CAN) and buy some hd dvd titles cheap on ebay (are they really this cheap?)

What do you guys think of this idea? Oh, yeah, i don't have a 360 though, it would probably end up wired on my 15 inch macbook pro

as far as our market is concerned the HD DVD is dead and buried. Lots of DVD shops done huge discounted sale on HD DVD titles this year - some as much as 70~80% off ~
Hence my thinking that HD DVD titles are cheap and chip...

It's a no brainer, definately go for it if you can, I buy a couple of discs every week, as they are cheaper than DVD's and the quality is superb.

I made sure I got all the HDdvds I could get hold of this year. I found The Matrix boxset for £12.99 new. last year it was £69.99.

HMV is the best place as they have loads at £2.99

Not all great titles, but at this price you can`t go wrong!!!!

Only thing that still keeps me from buying HDDVDs is that I don't want to have two players set up simultaneously and BR is definitely the future. So if I bought loads of HDDVDs now (which I am really tempted to do), I'd have to have two players ready all the time.

I guess someday I will be so tempted that I buy a shitload of them anyway. I'd love to see Matrix, Planet Earth, Kubrick stuff ect. on HD.

Well, if you have a 360 and a PS3 under one TV, it's not a big deal!

There are a few dual systems out there, LG made quite a few. The main problem was they kept updating the Blu-ray format, which was a pain for stand alone players. Your best bet is to get a hd-dvd/ blu-ray combo pc drive, there pretty cheap at around £90 last time i looked. Have one of those in a HTPC and your laughing.

you heard correctly - HMV sell them online only, with free postage (but don't believe the 24 hr delivery claim) from about £2.99 each. I bought a pile of them.
