Hi Everyone, So I ended up ordering a USB 3.0 dual-bay hdd docking station from Dealextreme. Looks something like this (though not the exact item): http://www.dealextreme.com/p/all-in...h-one-touch-backup-for-2-5-3-5-sata-hdd-31574 As usual, you get what you pay for. Turns out to be crap as any extended use causes the device to randomly disconnect and you have to unplug/plug the USB cable to get it to appear again. So I'm trying to find another dual-bay hdd dock that actually works reliably. Preferably with hardware drive "cloning" and perhaps a cheap price if I can get away with it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know Vantec makes some, as well as Startech, but those seem on the rather expensive side.
my suggestion for you is the Hdd Docking stations from lindy. Like this unit: http://www.amazon.de/Lindy-Clone-Do...1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1306946336&sr=8-1 has no usb3.0 but esata. My experience with lindy are very good. Most compatible adapters i know.
Try one of these Akasa AK-IC08U3-BKUK: http://www.misco.co.uk/applications...SE-_-google-_-hhd-_-162811&CAWELAID=602268316 Not used one myself but know a friend who owns one and he has never has any bother with his even when swapping several hard drives in and out.
