Looking for something that'll be happy with a 486. Believe it came with a 80mb hdd originally, believe it can take a maximum of 500mb or so. A CF card would be welcome too but I don't have an IDE adapter for one right now. Not looking to spend big bucks given how small a drive it is.

I have a 1700mb IBM HDD you can have for free.

But I think shipping the thing will cost 12Euro, so you will have better chances to find something for that price locally.

Though as a last resort, it is yours for the price of shipping.

I have a proverbial whole shed full of these, but I'm on the other side of the pond too I'm afraid!

ISA or VESA? No PCI slots are to be had. For some damned reason the audio card has a SCSI controller for the CD-ROM. Drive resembles a full blown laser assembly crammed into the tray than any drive I've seen in the last 20 years.

It's not a scsi card, cd-roms were proprietary back then.

Those old parts like the cd-rom are getting quite valuable these days.

Any HDD under 10gb will work fine, I would just use a microdrive adapter. $5 on ebay.

Look at this. It's cheap and very reliable, works on all native ide controlers (xt and at).

I've got 2 old Seagate HDDs you can have for free

    - ST34342A
    - ST32122A

None tested but I can try, shipping might be a bitch from uk to the us, I've got a whole pile of old hardware, that I'm sorting out, motherboards, graphic card... both ISA ideal to build PSX devkit for instance. If anyone is interested ping me a message, I will at some point put that in the free stuff thread or dump them at the skip if no interest.
