HDD loader on a memory card I've been killing load times using hdd loader. I haven't had much luck with the memory card exploit, loading HDD loader to a mem card. I was wondering is anyone here had multiple files running off the mem card, as some of the mods seem quite nice. I follewd the instructions http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 exactly, I'm wondering it it's because the memory card is corrupted. I lost my ps2CDgen tool in a hd crash (when I lost all my mail..). If anyone has a verion that isn't virus laden like the ones I've been finding on p2p.
I have a successful memory card exploit, what problems are you having? can you not boot up the menu system with a ps1 game?
Quite nice without the load times, isnt it? I had mine booting up using Beyond the Beyond (underated game!) I think I had a similar issue, the app would crash while it tried loading. I cant remember how I got around it though, sorry...I beleive that guide is different from the one I used as well. Crap, I really need to find that. It would be nice to have RE4 on the HD without loading times. Edit: Found the site, http://www.jeexlabs.com/hdloader/index-old.html I have it saved to my hard drive, so if you want the pics just PM me and ill send it along. Perhaps we can try setting it up at the same time to see if we encounter any issues that are similar. I also remember hearing that certain SLUS codes didnt work properly, so you may wanna try a few different games on the file.
I got HD Loader on my memory card, using the modchip features. Burned a cd with infinity manager and another cd with the HD Loader 0.7c (MC Infinity Manager version). Put the first cd and it installed the Infinity Manager on the memory card. Turned the system off and on, already pressing /\ the button to boot by the memory card. Put the HD Loader disk on the drive. Infiniy Manager menu showed up, selected install application and everything went fine. Turned the system off and on again, already pressing /\ the button to boot by the memory card. Infiniy Manager menu showed up. Selected Load Application and the HD Loader started. With the latest modchip firmware you can even install HD Loader directly into the HD and boot it from there. But i haven't been using the PS2 lately, so i still haven't upgraded it. I know most people here don't like modchips, but if you find someone that knows how to install it correctly, you won't have any problems. Specially with the latest GOOD modchips, like DMS4 and Matrix Infinity. My PS2 is on the 2nd modchip, and i never had any problems with the system at all. Well the Left digital pad of the controller is bad, but i'll just get a newer one. As for the system it works great just like the first time i used it.
I have a DMS3, and have never got the boot from memory card option working. Which is a pain in the arse, as that was the reason I bought it.
Oh, But I am! http://swapmagicfix.com/exploit.html And replace the ELF with this one (Anywho, the CGEN util in the first link isnt virus ridden!): http://www.ps2nfo.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1197 Hope the glass is from old beer bottles, least it should taste good
Yes, but the HD loader executable has to be in BADATA/BEDATA/BIDATA folder according to the region right?
I've had HDDLoader running off the memory card on both my chipped PS2s, using a Matrix Infinity in each. I wimped out and got a friend to set it up though, so I've no idea how he did it Maybe using the FTP server built into the modchip and the network adaptor? Stone
