I've been looking on YouTube at some game stores people visit and interview the owners, I'm saving up a bunch of cash so I can game hunting. This will be my second visit to the USA, I last went when I was 5-6 years old (so I don't remember much). I'll be trying to get into PAX, so it's that time of year. In the mean time any stores that anyone could mention for me to visit?:mario:
Try the Digital Press store in Clifton, NJ and Videogames New York in the Village if you make it to the NYC area.
If you get to the Chicagoland area, I highly suggest going to "People Play Games". While they have current games, they account for about 5% of the entire store. It's mainly N64/PS gen and back. They even have AES stuff.
In Rhode Island there's the Time Capsule on top of Retro games they sell comics and Vinyl....LOTS AND LOTS OF VINYL
RUN AWAYYYYYYYYY All the retro stores I've found in NYC itself are thundering, supercolossal ripoffs with unimpressive merchandise. The Digital Press store, if you have some way of getting out to it, has about as decent a selection of retro games for all systems as you're likely to find. I wouldn't say it was pilgrimage-worthy (at least when I checked it out a few years back) but it's good that such a place exists.
Like most tourist areas? Here is the same when I think about it. There is a really good one called Gameovervideogames, seen a few visits on YouTube, I'm sure there are plenty of places.
