Just wanted to to say that today Adelaide (Australia) broke the record for an Australian city heat wave, with 11 days over 35 degrees celcius (95oF) and the forecast for the next six days for no day under 38 degrees (100oF). http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23368482-421,00.html It's over 40oC (105oF) outside my office at the moment. What's the weather doing in your part of the world? Dave.
Canada is getting tons of snow. Weather where I live is just wonderful. Blue sky, timid weather, and pleasant winds.
It hasn't snowed where I'm at in 6 years until recently. So far it has managed snow on 3 separate occasions. The weather is crazy. One day it's hot outside with no clouds. 2 nights later, we wake up to snow. It has happened twice so far since the beginning of 2008.
youre lucky.. in sweden its been -5 to +10C and raining more or less heavily for the last 6 months now OH:
To use a highly technical term, it's been crap for weeks! Over the last fortnight we've had storm force gales with gusts of wind in excess of 80-90mph, we've had torrential rain (my office window overlooks a park and last week the rain was blowing in so fast & thick that the rest of the city normally visible on the other side, was not), we've had several inches of snow and the odd sunny day when you'd be lucky to notice a rise in temperature, but all the local women immediately started wearing summer clothes. I really would like a piece of Australian weather right now.
Aren't some parts of Australia near or around 130 degrees fahrenheit all the time? EDIT: Oh, and speaking of the weather around here....Its been weird. A few weeks ago it snowed down here for some reason. It wasn't even that cold outside! The Snow was somewhat thick, it wasn't just a little amount...and all of it was melted by noon. You couldn't even tell it snowed! At all!!
In Melbourne just before the Grand Prix, it's got really hot, last week it was pretty mild but today it was about 38c... even now at 12:30am it's a balmy 30c... for the grand prix weekend it should be overcast but a hot 34c...
It's getting better and better here, a great day with a nice 22ºC temperature, way better that last week (rained the entire week after a whole dry month...)
Moderate 10°C over here. There are plenty of huge thunderstorms these days though, 3 of them during the last 2 weeks.
Trust me it's overated. We had another storm last week, dropping another 30cm, my sister got it worse in Ottawa, they got 50cm.
I don't like this thread, reminds me how cold it is here Here it's been cold, wet and windy and generally crappy. About 10deg C
Weather's pretty nice here in Nuevo México. For the past few weeks it's been snowing a lot, but this week the temperature has been around 60°F (15°C). That may still seem cold to some, but after being in the 20's and 30's (-16 to -1°C) for months it feels pretty nice. It's still pretty windy, though.
snow, snow, wind, snow, sleet, hail, snow, snow, sun, rain, snow, snow, more snow, white snow, brown snow, green snow....snow, cold, cold, warm, warm-ish..... ...anyone in a nice warm climate want to swap places with me?...
Yeah, my mum's from Scotland, and she hates the snow... "Cold, wet miserable stuff it is..." she says...
