Hello, When Halo 1 for the xbox came out 14 years ago I met tons of new people and made several good friends that I still hang out with to this day. Around that time one of those friends taught me how to mod xboxes and I've been hooked ever since. I currently have 12 Xboxes including a ram and cpu upgraded Trusty xbox. The Trusty has a 2TB hard drive and is completely packed with every emulator, rom, and xbox game I can fit on it And the others I use to play Halo 1 competitively when I host big lans twice a year. In our Halo group I will mod Xboxes for anybody that needs it so they could play the newest map pack on their xbox. A good friend of mine created Halo 1.5 which also comes with a "LAN Edition" which removes certain sounds so as not to give away player locations. His latest map pack is called Halo1Final which adds an ingame talking timer for power up/weapon spawn times. Currently him and I are working on a modified version of Halo1Final called "Neutral Host Edition" which allows for a dedicated server on lan. We have gotten over several hurdles since we started working on this back in February of last year. The final challenge is what brings me here to assemblergames. This Neutral Host Edition works such that one xbox hosts a game while 2 other teams on 2 separate Xboxes join in. When the game starts, the player on the host xbox teleports to the top of the map and away from any spawn points which lets the two off host teams battle on an even playing field. It plays great however there was one unforeseen problem. The host player counts as a 5th person and when there are 5 or more people in a game, the grenade spawn count drops from 4 to 2 grenades. I have been working on reverse engineering the xbe to find out what changes this value. I will make a thread with any questions I have and will be sure to post links to the finished map pack if anybody is interested
Welcome! I'm sure someone should be able to help in thedev forums. Feel free to create a thread about your mod, too.
