I have recently been given a PS2 dtl-30002 s. I would like to put an hdd in it as it has the network adapter. and i would like to use hdloader/ advance or opl and maybe network it too using the ethernet port. any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried using losers master disc patcher v3 to patch hdloader to boot but i just get a black screen when the disc boots. I have done quite a bit of researching and believe that "utility" discs cannot be run on this PS2 this seems pretty conclusive except for one post where assembler mentions that you can patch hdloader using losers disc. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?6289-TEST-PS2-DTL-H30002-Help! I have tried but when I checked the box to patch as master it comes up with error patching
These systems have no Magic Gate capabilities besides the very minimum necessary to unlock memory cards. So, no bootable HDD, no bootable memory cards and no DVD Player. Edit: Because of that, you would be on better waters with the equivalent retail unit. The only advantage these have over retails are the fact they run silvers of all regions and they will run CDRs and DVDRs burnt as "master discs". :encouragement:
Hello there, Thank you for confirming that. It seemed that was the case. Just as an aside is ther a way to use this unit to istall FMCB on to a memory card? Thanks again :smile-new:
