So I upgraded a softmodded xbox to a larger HDD and somehow all the majority of the extra space went on the F-Drive yet all my folders for apps, games, emulators etc. are on the E-Drive.

I've tried using FTP to move folders to f-drive..no good. I've opened up Gentoox but there's no option to give E more space. I've tried creating folders in F drive but when I go to FTP files to it, it's a no go.

Any advice on the best way to fix this? Seems like if I could just move the extra space to the e-drive and take away from the f-drive it would be fine. I placed one game in limited E drive and it booted up fine.

You can't change "e", All the extra space will be in "f" and then in "g" if the HDD is big enough.
You should be able to just FTP stuff into "f" like you would any other partition so IDK why you can't but all homebrew dashboards can read from f.

    Maybe permissions are screwy?

No idea, i've done my fair share and this is the strangest thing ever. Cant think of what step I missed or screwed up. Usually F-Drive has the folders as well and I just FTP the emulators and XBox games to thier perspective areas on the F-Drive. But now..just seems like it wont let me move any items there..I can create folders in F but thats it.

Thanks, Chimp is supposed to partition as well as enable to bigger hard drive. The amount available on each partition does show on the main screen so it looks like it took. I'll see if xbpartitioner will work.

I really dont like softmods..lol. My chipped ones are so damn easy.

iirc chimp does make the partitions but doesn't format them, at least i recall having to run xbpartinior when i put in a bigger HDD in my softmodded systems.

I'd still like to know how we could change the size of E without fragging.

Probubly needs a change on the kernel? Or BIOS or maybe even the dash? IDK.

I remember having this exact same problem, but unfortunately I don't remember how I fixed it...

Yeah, I mean I know it's a bit off the topic, but it'd be nice to figure out where in the bios it is for E partition. I hate using a dashboard of kinds to load my f partition up on my dvt4. But with all the hex editing I've tried, it just fails to boot the xdk launcher after and defaults to the xboxdash.xbe.

I found out something by mistake....I don't understand why this works..but it works. If I create a Emulator folder in F-Drive or even FTP an empty folder I'll get that folder and almost infinite subfolders called the same thing. I cannot FTP ANYTHING into that emulator folder, however...

When I create a folder called Emulator on my PC and then fill it with the emulators I want, I can then FTP over the entire folder to F-Drive, restart the XBox and..Viola' it works. I found this out thwne I FTP'd over the games folder and forgot I had one game inside. No freaking idea why this works..but it works and I can access the emulors just fine, games all work etc etc.

This XBox is for a friend who'll never need the ability to add more games than the 4000+ i'm giving him so being able to change or add things via FTP in the future really isn't neccessary. I'm not going to question why or how, just glad he'll have a functioning XBox emulator for X-Mas.

I didn't use XBPartinioner or anything, so the way I do Chimp (use for upgrade then once new hard drive is the master, go into chimp app again and format F-Drive with all available excess space) must work.
