Hello all First post here since this seems to be the place to be for weird stuff. I was searching for a kisok Wii u to put in my Wii u kiosk which was just missing the system. So I got the system home and hooked it up and it boots to a devmenu or that's what it says. I hooked up a usb keyboard and I can change the settings and it says there are 26 things installed on it. Also the cord on the system is not Curley like on my kiosk it's straight. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello NickV, Can we have picts of the unit ? Few monthes back, I also bought a kiosk unit that was running a development runtime. I was even able to update this Runtime to the latest one (I am developping a game). Here is the thread about my unit. http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/wii-u-dev-unit.58951/#post-871688 Some nice guys from here just told me that my unit was a unit used at Nintendo Exhibition to present games. In order to change the system runtime (from dev to demo), you need service disks. I don't know a lot about kiosk units, so I can't help more. But I really would like to see few picts of the unit, in order to tell you if it is a dev hardware or something else.
So we both have the same unit, a kiosk unit. I can't read the text on the screen but it looks like my dev runtime starts screen. The only way to install a kiosk firmware is to use service disc (they may be a way to do it using wifi but we don't have the software needed. Can you PM me more screenshots of thr menu ? Especially the place where you see the 26 files ?
Thanks for the picts. So, you have an old SDK installed on your system (the last one is 2.13), so there is some differences between yours and mine. The files that are installed on your unit are standard system files. Your system is setted up in production mode, so it means that memory used by the system is equal to the one used by retail units. The pairing DRC page isn't useful in your case as you have a wired pad. On the unit you have, supposing that you update the firmware of both unit and pad, you can do Nintendo Web Framework development only. This is all I can say about this unit. I don't know how to boot a kiosk firmware but I hope my informations have helped you a little.
A guy on here has just bought CDs used by kiosk units. http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/wii-u-kiosk-console-how-to-load-demos.61311/#post-879982 You may ask him
How to turn it into a kiosk console again or finda betas that will play on it as it won't do anything right now
