help hacking MSR checkum file

    There is space at the beginning of the binary that is filled with 0xFF repeating. Upon booting it uses that space as a temporary swap and fills it with data, does something then completely blanks the first part of the binary and then continues execution. I don't think things are happening with the IP.bin because it all looks fairly standard, maybe I'll go back and revisit it though. Generally if you try to self boot it, things just immediately crash. I have yet to be able to get past the Sega intro screen. I was almost able to unpack the Echelon binary but that too crashes so I only have about 50% of it decrypted and dumped.

    yes, there is 64KB area at beginning reserved for stack, upper half for user mode and lower half for supervisor mode. not sure why you found it strange.
