Can anyone help me identify this SNES game? Maybe a top-down shmup or something?

Looks like an RPG to me, but hard to say from the terrible quality of the photo!

Yeah, that's a tough one. Where is the photo from?

It's a zoom in of a photo of someone from Origin Systems working on a SNES game.

Edit: Hmm, maybe I've found it? Thanks for the RPG suggestion.

Dear god, what a horrible perspective. Never knew a game like this exists. Such an odd choice of style.

You are correct. I knew straight away it was Ultima. Back in the day I saw that shit and wondered how could a snes game look so ugly. I'll never forget it.

Yeah, it's a little difficult to look at. Several different art styles, none of them particularly good, and a pretty questionable perspective choice.

Something interesting to note: Despite being a very early location in the game, the heart and star meters are filling a huge portion of the ride side of the screen in the blurry photo. I don't know the game well enough to say if this is usual behavior. I suspect it's the product of some debug mode in the game while it was under development.
