I'm trying to identify the proper name for a small spring mechanical device, or where to purchase one, used in machines such as older CD-ROM drives. Basically, it would be attached to the end of a CD tray, inside the drive. The way it would work is when the CD drive is pushed in, it opens up. To close, you would just need to push it back. It's also present in automobile cup holders that can close, as well as some glove compartments & coin boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A few google searches revealed that "push-push (type) latch" seems to be a frequently used general term for that kind of mechanism. It's a term also used in patents (example).
Thanks a ton! Something similar to this is what I'll need: Specifically this: Now I just need to find somewhere to purchase one.
