i saw it once in a magazine; it's a snes game, with ships really like f-zero ones, same mode 7 game play.

any idea? i searched everywhere and i can't find anything.

since it was reviewed i guess it was legit, and no, it was not that astro go-go or whatever called game!

I bet you mean very avarage if not below avarage Hyper Zone by HAL. May importers and magazines were calling it F-Zero 2 back in the day. Here's a shot of it.

Ah, then maybe you are thinking of Zero Banshi or something or other. It was a piss poor 2D scrolling fighter like Final Fight with F-Zero car sections between levels. Every single aspect of this game is awful apart from the graphics looked ok in stills.

maybe i was not clear enough :p

i mean that it was a racing game that was awfully similar to f-zero in all aspect. in the name there was no references to f-zero or zero.

damn i'm so pissed that i thrashed hundreds of VG magazine in my 3 consecutive movings :(

Since he is a member here, and I remember him having a thread around games from Japan. And there he kinda reviewed a game that screamed F Zero clone .

Damn! I missed that part! Maybe it's Battle Racers then? [EDIT: Surely not, no ships there]

By HAL? You mean the same people who made the Kirby games and SSB? Were they not partners of Nintendo at that time?

Yes, that's it. I remember liking the music on it for some reason. Can't recall it now.

Anyway, back on to the F-Zero look-a-like. So it's 100% not the BS F-Zero 2, right? Hmm.......I played practically every action SFC game ever made so I must have seen this at one point but I just can't remember. There are loads of mode 7 racers featuring cars or odd shit such as mask riders but one with ships like F-Zero? Now you've got me thinking like mad what it could be :banghead:

I'm still going nuts over this. I'm beginning to think that the game was never released. The only mode 7 racer that has cars that could even remotely look like F-Zero would be Speed Racer. And that's only because the car is bubble like in shape.
