Help me fix some Game Gears.

Just bought a crap load of broken game gears with various problems. Here is the list of problems I fixed:
No Sound: (3/4 had this, cap fix worked on all of them)
Weak Picture: (a few had this, cap fix worked on all but 1 of them)
No Power: (2 had this, replaced power board)
Dead blotch on the left side of the screen (1 had this, the cause was a failed sealing blob so the screen leaked, replaced the LCD, not an easy fix)

I still need to fix some more of them:
Black Screen (Backlight is working sound isn't. I recapped a few of these but still dead)
Crimson haze on the edges of LCD (Probably a heat damaged or leaky LCD I'll try replacing that)
Black Screen, with randomly moving horizontal lines (Also tried recapping on a few, used one as a donor for the one with a dead blotch)

I have also written some off as unrepairable.
Greenish Black screen (VA4 unit the IC that controls the right 1/3 of the lcd almost caught fire during testing,)

Edit: Some of the of Black screens are cap problems, I'll re evaluate those.

 

This sounds like the connection on the lcd ribbon near the lcd has gone bad. If the caps trick doesn't work, try using a soldering iron on the ribbon near the connector, just to reheat the connection.
