    Hello everyone up there.

The main thing is that i want to buy a white ntsc saturn.

I live in Spain and here the main system is PAL, then, i see i need to buy a converter, from 220 to 110 v. the question is:

Use the converter damages the tv or the console??

any rec about the converter? model? price?

    thanks in advance.

Well, if you don't use a power converter you will damage the NTSC console. You must get a stepdown convertor that converts your 220v to 110v (roughly). I'm not sure if you need hz conversion but the system would want 60hz and you should have 50hz.

You also need to make sure your TV support 60hz signals. Your PAL TV doesn't need any power converter. It's supposed to run on 220v I would think. Someone did mention you could buy a PAL Saturn for cheap that is the same model # as your japanese unit, and swap the power supply section from the PAL saturn ino the NTSC saturn and then you don't need a power converter.

Well I think exchanging the internal power supply section is the best idea. By changing out the 110v/NTSC power supply section with a PAL 220v you'll never accidentally plug in the system without a stepdown converter and damage the system since you won't need one if you put a PAL power supply in your NTSC system.

Yes, I agree. Buy the Japanese Saturn you want then buy a cheap dirty round button model PAL Saturn then change the Power boards around. Problem solved ! Just make sure that your TV can take a 60htz signal.

Yeah, or get a RGB SCART lead just to be sure. All but the earliest scart-capable TVs accept 60hz input through RGB.

And by the way, the Saturn is perfectly happy with 50hz power... half of Japan uses it, purportedly.
