I was just wondering if anyone would happen to know what the shipping rates are for 4 possibly 5 quite large packages (totalling around 50kgs) from Germany to the UK?

Also would anyone from Germany (Frankfurt in particular) be interested in acting as a middle man for a fee? ;-)

    Cheers

50kgs is a LOT. Are you talking as one shipment from the same address at the same time?

You should look to pay around the same price you'd pay to ship it within the UK pay Parcelforce.

The best answer is - look it up! Do you know what carrier the sender would use? Try UPS, DHL... you could even see how much Interparcel or Parcel2go would charge to pick it up.

Sounds too heavy for Deutsche Post...

EDIT: You're question is very vague, though. You need to be more precise, as most carriers go on volumetric weight (i.e. you need to know weight AND dimensions of each parcel).

That I don't know I'm afraid. The entire thing is pretty big standing at 7' 2" but it can be taken apart although where and what size the pieces are I don't know.

I figured I'd ask here as I really don't have a clue what the best method would be and what companies in Germany offer such a service.

You need to ask the seller before buying about size, weight and get an idea of shipping costs.

Seven foot? You're not talking about an arcade machine, are you? Look to pay at least £100 to ship one, more like £200 probably.

    £200 doesn't sound that bad actually :).

DHL looks perfect though, thanks for the information and link.

I wish I had more information, see it's a store (http://www2.saturn.de) selling it (oh it's a statue btw) and at the minute I've been dealing with a student who informed me about it all so details are scarce.

    Pallet it?

Haha Saturn is amazing place the one here in Hamburg is huge,I lost over 4 hours in there one day. Any place that can dedicate one huge aisle (30 feet) to multiplugs gets my vote.

Was it like the Father Ted Christmas Special where they got stuck in the lingerie department? :110:
