So in my local ad site I posted that I was selling an Xbox 360. So a foreign guy contacted my via e-mail and said he wanted to buy this for his ''friend'' I sent him my bank account number, so he could transfer me the money, but then the ''bank'' sent me this. ( see in pictures ) So do you guys think this is legit? I think he is trying to scam me, but he is not going to get away with it ! Alexander Smith and Kevin David sound very suspicious, don't they ? His last e-mail to me: ''Friend so kindly get the xbox ship out okay an try an get the money for the shipment an get back to bank immediately. When your get the item ship out with the scan copy of the shipment an the tracking number so you can get the money in your account immediately cos they have debuted the money from my account now an it 90% activate so they only wait for the scan copy so they could verified the money into your account ..so I put my trust in you now okay cos I send you 315euro to you so please don't forget to send out the Xbox as soon as you are able to .. Regard'' And he actually says that he's native language is English and he lives in my country - Latvia. Any ideas how we could punish this guy ?
Looks like a load of BS to me. Until you see the actual cash in your account don't send a thing. EDIT - Just stop replying to his mails. Native English speaker, yeah right. Looks like a right scam to me.
Yeah, I actually think there is more than one person behind this, because in his first e-mails his English was better.
More of a offtopic discussion more than a gaming discussion. To reply to the issue, yeah as Yakumo says, just ignore him futher.
Sorry, I know that it kinda isn't related to gaming. But the community here is nice, so that's why I made this thread.
http://reportcraigslistscams.com/xz...ft_Transfer_Payment_Has_Been_Approved_R_.html Confirmed, this is a scam
You could also have some fun with those scammers and then post your story to a site like 419eater.com
I think i'm going to fake the post document about the item being shipped out. We will see what happens after that
I really like Wolfenstein the New Order. I think that it has the best video game trailer of all time.
That email is registered at mail.com, also, check out how many scammers use that consultant domain at 419scam.org/419-consultant-com.htm
I helped someone else scam a scammer. When it came to the point where the tracking information was to be given, I provided a real-deal UPS tracking number for him to use. It was the tracking number on those pre-paid printer cartridges so you can send the spent one back.
Anything from Nigeria is typically a scam. If you ever sell a game console, laptop or even a car you will usually get a text or email. Often times they will offer more then you are asking to try and entice you. I had one try to buy my car this way and my laptop.
Don't laugh guys, but I wasn't at home so I made this with paint. Looks close to the real thing. And ''Sūdu iela'' actually means Shit street. I'm going to send this to him. Let's see what happens now !
