Hello, does anybody here know how to region switch mod an NTSC SNES? I've seen tutorials for PAL SNES's, but I have an NTSC one so yeah. Is this even possible to do?

EDIT: I'm wanting to mod my SNES so that I can play the PAL Super Mario World, it runs at 50fps and Mario is faster, also for PAL exclusives.

What PAL signal? you have a NTSC console with NTSC signal. Just by using a PAL cart doesnt make it output a PAL signal.

Switches isnt going to do anything different to the supercic regarding signal/refresh rate.

Oh ok, I'm still a noob at modding, so a SuperCIC is my definitely best option?

EDIT: I just read something about just disabling the CIC (Lockout) chip but desoldering pin 4. It also said to possibly add a switch to route it to +5 or ground so that later games can play like Super Mario RPG. Soldering things like that is more up my alley, but I've never been good with switches, how would I go about routing the pin to "+5" or "ground"? Sorry for noob questions :/

EDIT 2: Here's a link to a website with instructions and pics of disabling the lockout chip. It doesn't have pics of adding a switch though: http://www.gamesx.com/importmod/sneslockout.htm

    SuperCIC is better.

A lockout mod by itself has limited compatibility because it keeps your console at 60hz.
50hz optimized games may have issues, and some games block 60hz.

Yeah you'll need a compatible TV to get this right.

Also if you aren't using rgb scart (so composite or s-video) you will need to modify it further to lock the video encoder to suit the pal signal. Ah good times.
