So I wanted to open my 64dd to replace the internal back up battery(I was going to install a socket and new battery as the one in it is at least 15 years old), any how after removing the four screws from the bottom, I found that it still would not come apart. I tried a pry tool looking for any clips but to no resolve. Any here ever opened a 64dd? Please halp
Thanks from watching that video I realized it was the rubber stabilizer on all four sides of the drive holding the top of 64dd case to the bottom. I was able to wiggle a pry tool and free the top half of the case from the rubber grommet/stabilizers. I was able to install a battery socket and an energizer cr2032 battery . When replacing the 64dd internal battery it will yell at you after you boot it up and give you error 48. Just hold the A button to bring up the bios menu and set the date. Hopefully this helps someone else. Error 48: A clock function may have stopped temporarily. Thanks zetaboards for the error code list.
