Hi guys, just got a trusty xbox but im a bit confused, I got a new mobo from trusty with cpu/ram upgrade but im using my old 160gb hdd which was on my original modded xbox. I was told to use partition 1.1 to format hdd etc but when I run that I get an error "LBA48 info not found! Custom partitions will not work with this Bios! Update your Bios to one which supports at least LBA48 version 2. " it seems to be running games jumpy etc a bit too, How do i go about formatting my hdd etc when it started up it looked identical to how my old xbox used to look etc
You shouldn't need to format your old harddrive. It only needs to be unlocked. Trusty's boards come with X2 5001(?) so the BIOS is plenty recent. If you want to putz with it "HeXEn" should have everything you need to flash the TSOP and format the HDD. I don't recall if it has a copy of the MSDash, though. As for the jumpy games, you will have to use a patch like this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?vmnnzwxndnj (linked from: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=694933&st=30) Not every game works with the patch, hope you're aware. But I do recommend giving DK64 a spin with PJ64 1.6. -OK nix that with the BIOS, you need to format for F takes Rest. No G.
his last email did state that it has X2_4983_06 bios on it. Is that still a good enough bios? oh also, my dvd drive doesnt seem to be working. Its flashing the dvd eject light over and over
DVD Drive sounds like it's stuck. Open it up and put a sticker on the magnet or leave a disc in there.
That BIOS is fine. I use a VGA variant of it. I don't know why you want to format, were you not playing games off the old xbox's HDD?
It probably would be better to format though. You check the motherboard to see if the RAM slots are occupied.
