    Hello,

I have a TOP3000 programmer that I am trying to program a PIC12C508A with. I am trying to write the JAP MM3 dump on it for a PS1.

Unfortunately loading the dump and writing it on the PIC did not work right away so there must be something that I need to change in the settings.

I purchased a chip a while back with the MM3 (Jap) Hex already on it. Thought I would just copy the hex from it and try but that also didn't work.

    Appreciate any assistance with this.

    Bump..

Still can't figure this out :(

I've learned that the OSC value for each chip is unique and it needs to be noted down and entered in the HEX program manually before burning.

I have done that but unfortunately still can't get the chips to work.

Any idea on what could be the issue here?

I imagine you are struggling to get answers because no ones used that particular programmer.

If you want to arrange teamviewer, I can have a look for you as I have quite a few (and used even more) programmers.

I guess that's the issue. Not many people have experience with this programmer.

Yes, a teamviewer session would be great and much appreciated. Let me know when you can have a look.

My skype address is rqaddoumi if you wanna have a chat.

    Many thanks

    I figured it out.

I put a pre-programmed chip in and read it and took note of every setting (OSC, Speed, WDT, CP, MCLRE etc..). I then inserted the blank one and burned it. Worked like a charm. Would have really liked to understand what these abbreviations stand for, but oh well. I am happy it worked :)

Without offense, but why buy a 150€ (if i'm not wrong) if you don't even know what are fuses of a MCU?
Plus some MCU, specially those, can be copy protected...

We do not have many options where I come from. I was hoping I could find a $40 Willem programmer however the TOP3000 was the cheapest I could find. The rest were $500 and up.

I purchased it to create reproduction NES and SNES games mainly. I've created and sold a few so the cost has already been recovered in full.
