A younger friend of mine just informed me that his parents have installed a Bsecure internet protection software. I don't know much about it other that the fact that it blocks and censors just about everything. It even censors AIM conversations. I'm currently searching around looking for a bypass or workaround. I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has dealt with something like this before.
I know nothing about this software...as in how it works...and what sort of control it has... But the first workaround that comes to mind...is to use a Live Linux CD. Boot, Download smut, or whatever. Shutdown, remove CD. Reboot...windows just like Dad left it.
Not to dive off topic but perhaps the parents should be allowed to do their parental duties? I know I'd want to know where my kid is going online, especially given what I know about the internet. But for the topic Knoppix live would work just fine, until the parents come by and wonder what happened to windows.
Thanks for the suggestions I appreciate it. The work around is not desired for ill use and I agree with the parents being able to control content... to an extent. Both he and I have no problem with a pornographic image filter or whatever. It's just the excessive censorship that causes problems. Words like sex, breast, penis and molest are prohibited by the security software and therefore censored or content blocked altogether. The damned thing actually blocks ALL image searches. Not just specific images or key word, but all image searches completely. Even a search for 'sonic the hedgehog' will be blocked and show zero results. That and the thing is set to real time censor AIM conversations. No joke if he types something offensive as deemed by the software it will just show up as all asterisks and we're not just talking horrific cursing and graphic sexual statements here. Words in everyday use can be censored and make a conversation very annoying to say the least. /end rant
