    Hello all,
So I own 2 Genesis Model 1's. Both are HIDEFGFX, one is a VA2 and one is a VA6.
I've recorded some samples of both machines using the headphone jack - the only change I made to the audio files is Normalization and Pan Normalization (In the VA2 the left channel was way quieter, about 3.5db less).
For the test I connected only the console without a 32x or a Sega CD to a PC's line in.

    I've noticed a few issues:
    1. Both units had a serious hissing sound, I don't know if it's normal for these consoles, if so, any ways to fix this?
    2. The VA2 has catastrophic distortion (play sonic2_intro.mp3 to hear it clearly) - this has to be a common malfunction.
    3. If you ignore the distortion, the VA2 has (in my opinion) a better, kinda warmer, sound. I could be wrong about this, I am no expert.

I would like to hear you opinions about these problems, maybe some of you know how to fix them as I can only keep one unit to myself.
I would also like to know how these sound in relation to the desired Genesis sound quality.

    Thank you.
