I have a lot of language learning mp3's which i'd like to transfer to my ipod touch but I don't want to add them to my itunes library because I often listen to the whole library on shuffle. Is it possible to import tracks to an itunes playlist without them being included in the main library?
I think that in order for you to have a playlist you must have the tracks in your library as when you add tracks to playlist they get added to your library or thats whats happened to me before. Also if your then putting them on an Ipod they must be in your library.
I guess I could do it the very long way around and import the tracks and then make a new 'library' playlist excluding the unwanted tracks.
iTunes In iTunes, select the tracks you wish to be skipped over, and right click(Control-click for OS X) on the track. In the options tap there is an option "skip while shuffling", enable that option for all the tracks you wish to skip over during a shuffle. -lorax
