Hi all, I am from Australia and recently acquired a Sony PVM - 20M4A off ebay. But when I test it I get empty spots in the top left/right corners... As per attachment.. How can I fix this? Will the service menu fix this? Secondly, I have connected my Wii using the Component connection on the PVM and it accepts 480p but the screen is split in half....What am i doing wrong? Cheers
While I don't think this will necessarily solve the problem, have you tried adjusting the Horizontal Hold to see if it has any positive effect on the top of the screen?
not sure how to get into the service menu to do that... the main menu does not have that option to adjust Edit: I got in the service manual and its very difficult to navigate Edit: I fixed it. It was service menu issue, there is 120 options, option 8 had to be adjusted.
Yes. Last week a BVM sold for 836 here is the evidence; The one i got - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291791993512?_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT The one i missed out on - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-BVM...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Guys anyone know how to fix component connection on the wii on a PVM? my monitor supports 480p i beleive because i can see the image but its split.
Just be careful of service mode, you can actually permanently lock yourself out of the pvm with it by accident.
What was option 8's name? Good god. My pro-grade CRTs weren't SUPER cheap or anything and people can spend their money as they wish, but I'd find it hard to justify paying that much for a 10+ year old monitor. Have those prices been in place for some time, or are they a result of the apparent "old games are trendy" fad that started up a few years ago?
I originally bought 2 PVMS around 4 years ago for 50 dollars each... But its only in 2015/2016 that PVM prices have sky rocketed. Yes, I am upset i Didnt buy more 4-5 years ago...
That's an American thing. Component CRTs without 480p are common in the states, not so much elsewhere.
