Today i found my extremely old PS1, i turned it on and it works! The problem is that the laser lens drive spun 180 degrees, i have no idea how the whole drive managed to do that without somebody actually opening up the PS1 and physically spinning it around then closing it again.
Anyway, i decided not a problem, i'll order a new one and replace this one, should be easy, right? Well yeah, it is easy, the problem is that when pulling out the 4 pin connector that connects the disc drive to the motherboard, it wouldn't budge and i accidentally ripped the whole connector out and the pins separated from the solder.
What I was wondering was if it would be as easy as just reheating the solder that held the pins down and attaching the connector that fell off? (the print of the pins are still on the dry solder so it's really easy to know where to place the pins)
TL/DR broke a connector of ps1 motherboard, want to know if possible to just reheat solder and attach it back on
I have attached images so you understand what I am talking about. http://imgur.com/a/otOnv#3oOigJA
