    Hey,

I recently bought a "broken" Sega Mega CD 2 off eBay. Opened it up and it turns out the fuse is blown. I was wondering if anyone could help with a question though...

I live in Ireland so the mains power is 240V and the console is PAL. However the replacement PICO fuses I got are rated for 125V 2.5A. Is it safe to use one of those, or do I need to get 250V rated fuses? Not sure how I made the mistake, I sort of assumed that because the Mega CD 2 power supply outputs something like 10V DC, the different voltage rating of the fuse wouldn't really matter.

    Any help greatly appreciated! :)

That... is a great question. My instinct says it should be fine since the power adapter is supposed to adapt down to what the mega cd needs.

id say try it. Worst that will happen is the fuse blows again and you need to get a larger one.

Yeah that was my instinct too, as the console shouldn't ever receive anything higher than about 10V? I think I'll put one of em in like you said and see what happens, I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for the reply :)

125V fuse works as a 250V fuse and vice versa.
