Hello, new here and sorry if this isn't the right place for this. I recently got a Nintendo Power SF Memory Cassette version of Wrecking Crew 98 complete with box and such. Looking at other NP SF Memory Cassette boxes, to the right of "SF" is Japanese text, but mine actually says "Memory Cassette" in English. I have some pictures here to share: I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why this is. Is there some releases they did of these with this box versus the one with the Japanese text in that location? Some other reason? Idk. Also, everything inside seems normal. Cartridge, manuals and everything have that logo with the Japanese text, no sign of "Memory Cassette." Thanks in advanced.
This guy has a cart like that: http://lesyn.com/image/sfmem05.jpg (bottom image) Normally the serial number is SHVC-MMSA-JPN-1, but yours has no -1, like the guy's cart. I'd guess it's an early version, and maybe your cart got swapped over. The box has some other differences too, like the sides usually says SFメモリカセット but yours says エスエフメモリカセット. Same with the green band by the logo on the front.
How very odd! @Bjnido is the one you bought from me? Don't tell me a sold you a rare variant!!! Ha ha.. I have quite a few in my collection and have just had a look, I have a few others that are mix and match, i.e. English on the cart and a japanese box. Not sure on why there is a difference maybe just an earlier v later revision as suggested. I'm thinking with the nature of these carts being that they were taken to a shop and games downloaded they could of been taken from one box and then easily been mixed up and put in another box.
@dyer60 Hi! Yes, I bought this from you. What are the odds of bumping into you like this! XD Love my purchase by the way. This will be one of my favorites in my collection. Thanks for shedding some light on this you guys. I was just curious because I was looking at others online and noticed the difference.
