Ok, so at some point a couple days ago I had gotten a friend to create a skin for my launcher. In the process of trying to paste the file into the flash and it not working (using xex menu and viper360 to no avail) it somehow deleted my xlaunch.fdf file. When I boot up, it stays on the boot-up screen for longer than it should (the pnet sign-in popup appears there) and then it goes to a black screen. On this screen I can press the guide button and without touching any buttons it auto-scrolls through the guide randomly. I can launch the dashboard, and I can launch Xex's/transfer files from neighbourhood, but the launcher is non-existent. I tried using freestyle dash and unfortunately not even that will create/paste the xlaunch.fdf file into the flash. I don't want to run a recovery because I have many things on there which I have since deleted from my computer to conserve space.... and I still only have 1GB free. In the storage status in freestyle dash it says as follows: HDD1: 96.9GB / 89.9GB Free FLASH: 62.0MB / 0.0MB Free GAME: 96.9GB / 89.9GB Free Maybe it's just disallowing anything to be created because it has "0.0MB free" even though it previously had an xlaunch.fdf file? Have any suggestions? Any responses are appreciated.
I have done this many times when working on alternate launchers. Pop in a recovery without HDD attached, wallah.
Hahaha I can't believe I didn't think of that! Thanks for the quick reply. Btw, do you have any idea as to why viper360/xex menu/freestyle weren't working for me?
I used to work with xexdev and had time to listen to the dev's while testing and basically its pretty much due to the fact that when ftping to the flash it transfers improperly and makes a dummy file. TheLoader can ftp to the flash without issue but it is not public and I can not hand it out, however you are welcome to ask around how others inject to their flash.
hmm... If anybody would like to share how they inject into their flash I would much appreciate it. I've tried many things without success.
Mike, I told you plenty of times that you could recover and it would fix it. (8:20 PM) You: i can still view files (8:20 PM) Me: run a recovery (8:20 PM) You: what?
Scene drama does NOT belong here. Take the hint and don't post insults. Any futher posts that are not about the issue at hand and the thread gets locked. -hl718
