Hey guys, i want to cover something very special it's a RPG But, Only exclusive in Taiwan (or China i think) though this type of game looks like it could be praised as a great contender to "Final Fanasty VI" or any of the late Super Famicom Squaresoft games of the time! Here's the description (Roughly Translated): This is a typical RPG-game from Chinese manufacturers in the game format in those years which has already become a classic: 2D-map, you can go in the house; cave battles with opponents occur in single-step mode, and also has an extremely simple controls - a clear echo of the origin of such games platformers . You play as a young man named 亚 拔 (putunh. - Yaba, Canton. - Apathy). The plot is partially explained in the starting animation sequence. That was set in 1999 Here's Gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/embed/yceL24I3va8?autoplay=1
Yes. There is a lot of really really good games that seemed to be only released in China/Taiwan (Or J-DOS games converted/translated to run in non J-DOS environments.). I remember playing some of them when I got my first PC (And bootleg sellers would sell CD-ROMs with a lot of games, in Chinese/English generally.) Currently today it's near impossible for me to locate any copies because well.... I do not understand any Chinese......... There's a lot of them I would want to play again but I have no idea how to find them.
Well actually as a matter of fact if you don't mind downloads you can def check this site out http://www.old-games.ru/catalog/?platform=1 just look for the Chinese or Korean characters under each game title ;-) & you'll find what they have uploaded by them.
Thank you. This is a great lead. I can't talk about such games because well, I do not understand Chinese/Japanese characters and I have played them when I was a very very young child. PS. I haven't seen that game you showed the Youtube video but it's very interesting.
No problem buddy! ;-) i was just curious if anyone knew or heard of this game or any other chinese/korean rpgs on DOS and while most of them do look like straight up Super Nintendo/Famicom type games! (the reason for my created SNES vs MS-DOS thread) lolz P.S whenever you get the chance, there's another chinese game you should checkout is "Battle Europe" hellva Fun game! me & my lil bro had loads of time put into it!
