Hello. While I am new here, I am far from new to the video game world. So let me introduce myself. My handle is Kobaltic. I started gaming at 6 years old. The first system I ever played was a Colecovision. The first game I ever played was blackjack. I know not exciting. My dad told me to just try to get to 21 without going over. We had the Atari attachment and I fell in love with Kaboom!. I saved up and bought my first system the NES. I rented a game called Final Fantasy and couldn't put it down. I decided to buy the game and owned every mainstream release since. I bought every Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony video game system that came out. I also owned many Sega systems and Atari systems but not all of them. I have a love for games. Not just playing games but everything about them. I love the retro story lines. I love all the accessories that came out. When I look back at what was accomplished, I am amazed on how they got around the development issues. I love the fact that games have become collectables. In 2002 I took my love of games to the next level. I started designing levels for a game called Gore: Ultimate Soldier. Later I started messing around with the source code and made my own game mode for Gore. The company picked me up for their bug report. I worked on the bugs that came about in the re-release of Gore. I was in close contact with the president of 4D rulers and learned the business side of the gaming world. I decide to spread my wings and start modeling, animation and all other areas. Now I am a well a rounded developer. I am by no means an expert in any one area but I know them all. Level design is still my strongest area. I started to make my own game but didn't have the skills to recruit members. In my search for a video game engine I stumbled onto UDK. I taught myself every aspect of the engine except coding. I dabble in the coding when needed, to add in a new weapon or such but not heavily. I am now one of two project leads for a new game. I am on hold due to a baby coming on Monday. My programmer is also having real life issues. I decided to have some fun and dive into the retro gaming world and make a small game for the NES. I also decided to restart my private collection of video games and systems. I am in search of a DTL system or a PS Tool, but with no cash at the moment. That is how I ended up here. So expect to see me showing up around the forums.
